Good game, has come a long way

This review is being written based on not only how I feel about this particular version but also how it compares to previous versions as well as other games.

Graphics - The graphics in this version have improved greatly. Compared to other games they are still lacking but graphics play a small piece in this games overall strategy.

Interface and usability - Very complex. This is definitely not an install and shoot-em-up game. A user actually needs to take time to learn the various controls and, if needed, change the key assignments to what fits the users needs best. The windows are well placed from a strategy standpoint. Very easy to communicate, fight and see what is happening across the galaxy.

Features - This version contains some interesting features that previous versions do not have.I like the zoom feature, helps my eyes. Also like the signals that flash on ships when using system messages(RCDs). Helps new players keep an eye on the galaxy map.

This is in no way a simple game but hey it is free and the development community is, surprisingly, still active. It involves a lot of strategy and teamwork. Have seen some people compare it to sports which I can agree with on some levels but also feel it is like a very fast paced chess game. Very intense, games can last from 15minutes to 10+ hours. If you want to play it take 5-10minutes to learn the controls, it will make your gaming experience much more enjoyable.

Use different ships and different weapons to battle against people around the world. You and your team battle, bomb and take planets to overtake the enemy. Up to 16 people per game battle against each other over the internet on a virtual battlefield. Since you are always teaming up with and playing against different people the game is extremely intense. There are multiple servers ready for you to play on and they are online 24x7. This game is war at its best. The only way to feel the intensity is to download it, completely free, no advertisements, full version....free.
